Retail, payments, sales, travel, fitness, education, and office tools all have live ChatGPT apps today, now listed as plugins in OpenAI’s directory. Shopify, Stripe, QuickBooks (through a Pilot connector), Gusto, HubSpot, Booking.com, and JobTread are all there. Real estate, restaurants, and local trades had no listing in the 131 we could see.
Who this is for: an owner or product lead who wants to know what’s already in ChatGPT for their industry before they buy, or before they build their own. Who should look elsewhere: if you want ideas for a server to build for your own business, our companion post lists 30 MCP servers a small business could build. If you’re deciding between a plugin, an MCP server, and a Custom GPT, read which of the three you need.
Dawloom isn’t on this list and has no plugin in the directory. We didn’t rank anything. This is an audit of what each listing says it does.
How we checked
On 2026-10-14 we fetched the public directory at chatgpt.com/plugins. Its page referenced 131 plugin listings. We fetched each listing page and recorded what the page itself shows: the name, the developer, OpenAI’s category, whether it contains an App (an MCP connection to the vendor’s service) and Skills (packaged instructions), and the vendor’s own description. A made-up listing ID loads a blank shell with no title, so a page with a name and developer is a real, live listing.
Limits, so you can weigh this:
- We didn’t install the plugins. “Reads or writes” comes from each listing’s own wording, such as “create and update records” or “Look up chats and messages”. Where the listing doesn’t say, we wrote “Not stated”.
- The directory’s main page shows a selection. OpenAI says plugins appear there only “if OpenAI selects them for enhanced distribution” (review requirements). Others can only be found by exact name or direct link, so the real directory is larger than 131.
- Some 2025 launch partners, including Zillow, Expedia, DoorDash, Instacart, and Uber, weren’t among the 131. That doesn’t prove they’re gone. They may sit outside the selection we could load.
The directory at a glance
Three things stand out in the 131:
- Almost all are MCP connections. 123 include an App. Only 29 add Skills. A plugin is mostly a vendor’s MCP server with a listing on top, which is the point we make in ChatGPT app vs MCP server vs Custom GPT.
- “Healthcare” mostly means fitness. The nine Healthcare listings are workout, calorie, wearable, and wellness tools. That fits OpenAI’s rules: plugins may not “collect, solicit, or process” protected health information (plugin guidelines).
- Most of the 40 below can change your data. Of the 40, 19 say they write (create, update, or delete), 3 draft things for a person to approve, 15 only read, and 3 don’t say.
40 live plugins, by industry
“Parts” shows what the listing contains. “Reads or writes” uses the listing’s own words. All links go to the listing in OpenAI’s directory, checked 2026-10-14.

How the money-moving plugins handle money
The plugins that touch payments or bookings show the limits OpenAI sets. Plugins “may conduct commerce only for physical goods”, and the guidelines prefer “external checkout, directing users to complete purchases on your own domain” (plugin guidelines).
- Booking.com and Skyscanner search inside ChatGPT and send you out to book. Booking.com’s listing says: “Tap ‘View on Booking.com’ to book your stay.”
- Interactive Brokers drafts trade instructions that are “sent to your IBKR account for your review and approval”, and says “ChatGPT never submits orders directly to the market.” Executing money transfers, crypto transfers, or investment trades is on OpenAI’s prohibited list.
- Stripe, QuickBooks (Meridian), and Gusto work on your own business records: payment links, journal entries, payroll. They’re writes inside your account, which is why the QBO connector lets you pick read-only access per company.
If you connect a plugin that writes, check what it can change before you give it access. Our 12 checks before you connect a third-party MCP server apply to plugins too.
What’s missing, and what OpenAI is building for
We saw no plugin for real estate listings, restaurants, salons, clinics, or local trades such as plumbing and HVAC. The only construction listing was JobTread.
OpenAI’s own docs point at some of these gaps. It publishes beta specs for restaurant reservations, local services quote requests, and product checkout. Each says it’s “currently in beta and being tested with approved partners.” So the gap is real today, and OpenAI is working with selected partners to fill it.
For a small business, the practical reading:
- If your software vendor has a plugin, use it. OpenAI’s pricing page lists “Discover & use Plugins” on every plan, Free included, checked 2026-10-14.
- If your system is custom or your industry is missing, nobody will build the plugin for you. You need your own MCP server first. A plugin is that server plus a listing and review. Our guides on connecting company data to ChatGPT and building a ChatGPT app cover both steps.
If you want AI features inside your own app as well, see our AI integration service.
FAQ
What are the best ChatGPT apps for business?
It depends on the software you already pay for. The most useful plugins connect to it: Shopify for stores, Stripe and QuickBooks for money, Gusto for payroll, HubSpot for sales, and Slack, Notion, Dropbox, and Atlassian for office work. Pick the ones that match your stack.
Do ChatGPT plugins still exist?
Yes. The 2023 plugin store closed, but since July 2026 OpenAI publishes ChatGPT apps as plugins in a new directory shared by ChatGPT and Codex. The directory at chatgpt.com/plugins loaded 131 listings for us on 2026-10-14.
Which companies have a ChatGPT app?
Among the 131 we saw: Shopify, Stripe, Booking.com, Skyscanner, Trip.com, HubSpot, Canva, Figma, Adobe, Slack, Notion, Dropbox, Spotify, Upwork, Gusto, Interactive Brokers, and many smaller ones. OpenAI also publishes connectors for GitHub, Google Drive, Outlook, and Teams.
Are there ChatGPT plugins for real estate or restaurants?
We found none in the listings we could load. OpenAI runs a restaurant reservation beta with approved partners. A restaurant or agency with its own booking or listings system would need its own MCP server.
Can a plugin change my data?
Many can. 19 of the 40 above say they create or update records. Read the listing, start with read-only access where offered, and check the tool’s permissions before you connect.
We build MCP servers and plugins for businesses whose systems no vendor covers. Our only public server so far is https://dawloom.com/mcp. See MCP servers and industries for the kinds of systems we work on.
